Constitution 101 Free Speech

Constitution 101 The First amendment.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

The Founders knew that no government made on Earth by humans COULD be perfect, because people are not perfect and things change.
They HOPED that the people running the government in the future, would be wise enough realize that.
Peaceful change requires that the people have the right speak about the actions of the state with out fear and to publish those views and to assemble and demand fair play.
Outside of America and to a more limited degree England, that sort of thing could be seen as treason. Think..hot irons...short rope and the rack.

In America political free speech is an absolute right.
BUT
What If the people running the government, refuse to listen or use force against the people??????????? Home work Google "Cromwell".
