Paine in "Common Sense" makes the point that those we elect must return to the people so that our interest remains shared. We have gone in my lifetime from thinking of pols as public servants servants to national leaders. This sort of thinking is fit for a monarchy or a dictatorship not that American Republic. We take those, who were in many cases, regardless of party, are well meaning men and women and tempt them pass human endurance with $10.000,000 book deals and seats on the Board. The fault is mostly ours our lazy nature. We must have term limits. 2 for the House and one for the Senate.
