What is a " a good contract?" Constitution 101

What is a " a good contract?"
A contract is an agreement based on the idea that people will almost  always act in their own self interest. So to prevent conflict..swords and axes ..agreements must be clear and in writing. I or you may forget. Paper does not forget.
So with that in mind:

I will give 3 pigs for 3 ducks...simple right?
Wrong!!!
How big are the pigs? How old? How healthy?  Male or Female?  When will this take place? What will result if you are not satisfied?
As to the ducks How big are the ducks ? How old?  How healthy?  Male or Female?  When will this take place? What will result if you are not satisfied?
Are we done?
Nope.  define "healthy" and define "satisfied"
You will note that a "contract" is as exact as the parties can make it and once agreed to and signed and in most cases witnessed. That Contract may NOT be changed unless BOTH parties agree.. The Contract does not "live and evolve " by itself.
That idea violates the very concept of a contract!

So if Mike agrees to pay you $ 20 to watch his car and when he returns the car is safe but he tries to give you $5 .."Because the  contract has evolved"  would you accept that as just? Has he kept to your contract?

Reread and understand that! That has to be clear before you can advance:
The US Constitution IS the Contract the American people made to creat the Federal Government.

Tomorrow the Social  part of the Social Contract.
