Tacitus

THE GERMANY and THE AGRICOLA
OF TACITUS. THE OXFORD TRANSLATION REVISED, WITH NOTES.
By Tacitus Yep..gotta control them "assault spears"
44. . "Nor are arms allowed to be kept promiscuously, as among the other German nations: but are committed to the charge of a keeper, and he, too, a slave. The pretext is, that the Ocean defends them from any sudden incursions; and men unemployed, with arms in their hands, readily become licentious. In fact, it is for the king's interest not to entrust a noble, a freeman, or even an emancipated slave, with the custody of arms."
PEOPLE THIS WAS WRITTEN ABOUT 90 AD and you can see that government ( the King) controlled all the arms in the state in order to insure power. Yep..gotta control them "assault spears" for the public safety.....The men who wrote out Bill of Rights into the Constitution read this I am sure and KNEW that only a armed people could be and remain a free people! Again this was written in about 97 AD
