"What do ya mean..the supply ship is late? a guy at the spaceport door yelled.
"we got agreements and contractes ..."
"Yes." A woman added and we need power pacs! How are we to run the net or our homes? Why I cannot even tell my phone to open the gate if I dont have power!  The resupply ship is NEVER late!!!
"Look people" Joe replied "The ship is NOT here. you can see the pad from the gate if you shut your mouths and open yer eyes..The...Ship...is..late!!!" Use your back up power. The ship cannot be too much later. In fact I have never heard of it being more than a day or two late."
"But if we use our backup pacs.we have to pay for them! A guy yelled.
"Yes" a woman said " I have a contract...power for art..The pictures are here and."
"Your pictures will keep  Mary. But my ice carving?? They need power!!  I??
"All I know" said a woman "is that we have agreements  and if they are  not kept I will see them in court!!!!"

Joan looked up from her screen and said. Party sounds like it is getting rough Joe. I sure hope that ship gets in soon.
"Me too kid..me too" said a sweating Joe.

"Steve the power is starting to get a bit low and the net was slow. Time to go and get some new power cells""
 "Yep, My power was down too. The shipment should be at the store by now. It is Friday." replied Bill.
"I was thinking of heading over there after chow..you wanna take a ride? Good to have company.
"Happy to. We sure cannot do much without power.
 Makes ya think those nuts may have had a point about building a local factory."
"Naw'. You know better than that. Think of the effect on the environment and the tax! I tell ya once the colony worlds start down that path, This place will soon be as bad as Central World. if it makes them happy there,  to make stuff with those AIs and factories and the price is good, you know we cannot make stuff that good or that cheap. I say let them.  They send us stuff ans we send them creative works like movies and Art.You wanna leave after lunch?

Still, I would be a lot happier if we knew or could build our own ships." Said Joan
"Yeah, I agree. But you know how that goes. The pols figured that it was cheaper just to have Central World build the  ships and  manufacture the tech and you know no one is ever going to vote to pay more tax to build plants  Just make poor copies of stuff on the outter worlds?   Get others to pay? Sure! Good idea!  Tax the rich.  But us pay?? Not on  yer life/"

What if: There was a central world that built and sent out colony ships to places like Earth and that world being destroyed by a "war in heaven", we got left here and went back to the stone age?
