In 99.9 cases the would be pol wants office for advancement and knows that he or she MUST keep the bosses happy if that party is to support them.No party support no office, even a president in their second and final term KNOW, that if they want their "Legacy" their place in history, they need the support of the party.
The interesting thing about Trump as a Brit named Farage said is that Trump is really an independent. That I think is why the Gop Progressives hate and fear him as much if not more than they do Clintion. Trump is that almost unique man in American political life that does not "heel" at the party master's command. Question is then, why did the GOP let Trump run? Answer: They figured that if they did not and he ran,as Ross did, a third party that would toss the race to Clintion ; thus the famed "pledge" You see I think the GOP figured that Trump would flame out and it would be Jebb as intended. Trump would be contained by his pledge..Surprise Surprise !! Jeb flamed out. At that point I think the rino game was to have Cruz, who the rinos dont like either and Trump take each other out and set up a floor fight at the convention. Kasach, a good old company man, would then get the nod. only Surprise again! Trump won I suspect their last gasp was to have that tape leaked.But were I trump I would not turn my back on the rinos. Guys and Gals Trump won and I think he is going win the White House. Than the work starts as progressives in both parties will be blocking reform and fight like hell to protect their business as always sweet life style.
